You sipped and said, this one's too thin
Then tapped the lid and shrugged again
I offered mine, you shook your head
But reached across my straw instead
You claimed it wasn't quite your taste
But drained the top with quiet gazed
I watched the foam drift low then gone
You said,
well,
maybe I was wrong Not your drink,
you said it's near
But somehow kept it drawing near You took a sip,
then one more slide
And left your cup untouched outside
You twirled my straw like it was yours The lid creaked soft,
you leaned your chin
I laughed and said,
you always win You shrugged again,
then stole the last
I didn't mind,
just let it pass You wiped your lip and pushed it back
Said,
fine,
I owe the next attack But both our cups had settled slow
And so had something soft below Not your drink,
you said it's near
But somehow kept it drawing near You took a sip,
then one more slide
