Chasing a Feeling. I wrote this next song with the great songwriter, producer, amazing vocalist,
Mr. John Randall. Got to go over to his house over in Franklin and I had this little guitar
riff that I had played that just kept like it felt like it kept wanting to revolve and cycle
through chords and like a yearning and pulling on your heart strings, if you will. And I told
him it just reminded me of like chasing a feeling. And so I had a couple of lines and stuff, but we
ended up whipping it up pretty quick. And I had all it was ever missing was one line to the song,
which literally took three or four years to end up writing it. And I wanted to include it on this
project because it almost made the Wandering Star project, but it was just wasn't done.
But I really love the song. It takes me back to the early days of playing at a little vineyard
in Midland, Texas called Cigar Frogs, where it was the first place that really let me play when
I turned 18. And every time I smell cigar smoke or hear bottles clinking, I'm just taken back to
being 18 years old again and singing for people.
And realizing that that's kind of what my gift is, is to serve songs and create good vibes for
places that are that are lacking. So pour you a drink and blow a little smoke and enjoy the song.
