It was Twistmas Eve and I was cold and not alone, sitting by a chimney top, trying to get warm. I heard the sound of Twistmas bells jingling far away, and there came a jolly hoo-hoo-hoo and I saw a big red sleigh. Before I knew it, there was Santa looking right at me. He said, hey little bird, why are you so sad on Twistmas Eve? I said, cause no one cares a thing about the birds this time of year. Why, Twistmas is for people, they get all the Twistmas cheer. Santa kinda juggled and he took me in his hand. He said, but Twistmas is for you and all your feathered friends, cause birds are very special and Santa's never wrong. Come fly beside my sleigh with me and sing this Twistmas song. Christmas is for the birds. Santa loves us all the same, go and spread the word. Christmas is for the birds. Country birds and city birds, ugly birds and pretty birds, big birds and little bitty birds, and even me, the twenty birds. Christmas is for the birds. Santa said, you know, the birds have always been the ones to take the lead whenever something special must be done. That's why every year you'll find Robin Redbreast there announcing to the whole wide world when spring is in the air. The rooster's crow at sunrise wakes all the people up. And the canary's friendly little song adds such a cheerful touch. The eagle flies for freedom, and what about the dove? Well, he's the symbol everywhere for peace and joy and love. Each one has a special job the birds all work so hard. So you see my little feathered friends, you should be proud of who you are. Even at Christmas time we celebrate all the good they do. So Merry Christmas, twenty birds, because Christmas is for you. Christmas is for the birds. Santa loves us all the same, go and spread the word. Christmas is for the birds. Country birds and city birds. Ugly birds and pretty birds. Big birds and little bitty birds. And even me, the twenty birds! Christmas is for the birds. Christmas is for the birds. Santa loves us all the same, go and spread the word. Christmas is for the birds. Country birds and city birds. Ugly birds and pretty birds. Big birds and little bitty birds. And even me, the twenty birds! Christmas is for the birds. Well, Twenty Bird, that song was a real tweet. It sure was a lot of fun that night with Santa Claus. Well, I know you had a good time, but there's a special meaning to that song too. It shows just how important the birds are with all the things they do. Hey Conway, did you see that snowman over there? Almost anywhere you find snow you're going to find a snowman. But you know, some of us kind of take snow for granted. What do you mean? Well, did you ever stop to think that in some places, like way down south, it hardly ever snows? Oh yeah!
