This song
is a sort of
a metaphorical
rebel song.
Because
this song was written by a friend of mine and myself,
and it was written for all those people who are
unable or who don't wish to join the rat race.
And one thing in our experience is in the USA,
the last two weeks have been absolutely fantastic.
Because the Center Stage Project was
conceived in a way where they basically,
it's the
first time for all four of us in the US.
And they just
took our band and they just threw us in the real America
and gave us a chance to really experience the real thing.
So we've played in New York,
we've played in Washington,
but then we went to Bellows
Falls in Vermont,
and New Canaan in Connecticut,
and Chester in Connecticut.
And these were just such amazing places
and we met so many amazing people.
And one thing we noticed that,
you know,
it's true what they used to tell me as a child
that the US is a place where if you want to make it,
if you have the driving force,
if
you have the passion to do something,
perhaps this is probably the best place in the world
where there's always support for you.
But at the same time,
I think perhaps more sympathy
needs to come from all of us for those who can't make it.
And these two things have to go together.
So this song has been written for the other side.
And
the words, you know, in Pakistan,
there are two derogative words which are generally used
for people who are considered to be useless by society,
and they are charsies and bangis.
Charsies are like people who smoke up,
you know,
stoners.
And bangis are people who make this drink of marijuana
and drink it and they don't know what they're up to.
And so, you know, these are derogative words.
So in this song, this is that yes,
we are charsies and we are bangis,
but we are everyone's friend.
