Once again we're going to ask you to raise both hands toward heaven and let us praise the Lord for His grace, His mercy and His wonderful favors.
We're with these blessed. Glory to God. Glory to God.
Thank you, wonderful Jesus. Glory to God. God bless you.
Thank you. I wonder if you have a good chorus you'd like to sing. Do you have a good chorus you'd like to sing?
Leaning on the Everlasting Arm. Leaning on the Everlasting Arm. All right, shall we sing together?
Walk, how I will sing. Walk, how I will fear. Leaning on the Everlasting Arm.
I have blessed peace with my blessed King.
Leaning on the Everlasting Arm. Leaning, leaning.
Safe and secure from all the...
Leaning, leaning. Leaning on the Everlasting Arm.
Leaning, leaning. Safe and secure from all the...
Leaning, leaning on the Everlasting Arm. What have I to fear
Leaning on the Everlasting Arm. I have blessed peace with my Lord.
So dear. Leaning on the Everlasting Arm.
When I'm leaning on the Everlasting Arm.

Leaning, safe and secure from all the law
Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting love
Well, you're singing beautifully well this morning.
We're going to read to you from the 100th Psalm, and it reads like this.
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness.
Come before his presence with singing.
It's always good to sing and to worship God.
Isn't that right?
There's no greater employment for a Christian than to sing the blessed songs of Zion.
He says, know that the Lord, he is God.
It is he who hath made us and not we ourselves.
Why shouldn't we sing and praise God?
Then over in the 50th Psalm, the Bible signs a little more light on our singing praise unto God.
And it tells us to worship God and to worship him with music and the trumpet
and even on the string instruments and praise the Lord,
for he is certainly worthy to be praised, to receive all the honor and the glory.
Now, the big surprise that I'm sure that all of you have been waiting for,
we're not going to have our regular, usual morning worship service as we normally do.
But we're going to have with us this morning a group of people that I think you'll enjoy very, very much.
And I know that you've heard him or heard of him, all of you, no doubt.
And I think that I can say without fear of contradiction that he is one of the very great personalities of our time
and one of the very top recording artists.
And this morning as pastor,
as pastor of Keys Assembly of God Church,
we are very happy to welcome here for this public appearance,
Mr. Merle Haggard and the Strangers.
So we're going to ask them if they're ready, please.
We're going to ask them if they're ready, please, to come.
And so once again, we're very happy to welcome to our service this morning,
Mr. Merle Haggard, along with his wife, Bonnie Owens and the Strangers.
Merle?
Thank you very much.
And be seated.
The date is February 21st, and we're located at the Assembly of God Tabernacle in Keys, California,
a small church in a little town, but typical of many in our great land.
In Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, the Bible says,
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all the ways, acknowledge.
Acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
And these words inspired this song.
This song was written by Johnny Gimbel.
