Fighting back the tears of pain,
she cried for many years
Haunted by the memories of the past,
hurt by the ones she loved so dear
She knew she had to let it go,
how could she find a way?
On her knees
she cried out to the Lord,
and in her heart she heard him say
We are men and fences,
picking up the pieces one by one
Forgiveness ain't easy,
but when all's been said and done
A shattered heart once wounded,
but now hope consumes in mends
She'll find a way to love again
Bottled by his bedside,
he tried to drink his pain away
His home had been broken by a life
full of so much sin
and shame
But coming to his senses,
he longed for
peace of mind
He opened up God's holy word and read it line by line
