Have you had a chance to sit down and listen to Threads yet?
It's the brand new album from Sheryl Crow.
It features her and some of her favorite people that she's ever had a chance to work with,
people that have left an indelible mark on her and her music.
And this next song, I would say it's one of my favorites on the album
because I love Chris Stapleton.
The two of you sound incredible together.
So talk about Tell Me When It's Over and tell me about singing this one with Chris.
Tell Me When It's Over is a song actually I wrote with Chris Stapleton for this record.
And I wrote it with him.
I didn't beg him, but I called him and said, you have to be on this record.
I've written so many songs with Chris that I have loved.
I wrote a song a couple of records ago called Homesick,
and it was one of my favorite songs on the record.
I wrote a couple of songs for that record that we didn't put on there that we still have.
And one of those actually was a song called Flying Blind that's on this record
that I just loved, and James Taylor's on that.
So I called him and said, will you please come write with me?
I know we'll write something amazing.
And it's a cool song.
It's really a throwback to like the OJs.
I mean, it has a little.
It has a little bit of everything,
and it's definitely something he could just totally sink his teeth into and fun to do.
I mean, we wrote it in an afternoon.
We recorded it in a day, and it was just easy and fun, which is how it should be.
Well, the recording process might have been easy and fun,
but when you listen to the lyrics to this one, man, it is a heartbreak.
And when you hear Chris and Cheryl's voice together, it'll just blow your mind.
This is Tell Me When It's Over.
You'll find it on Cheryl Crowe's new album, Threads,
which you can stream, download,
or find at your local store wherever they sell music now.
