Is there anything left?
If you stay down next
Waking up to washing up
Making up your bed
Lazy days
A razor blade
Choose a better way
It's enough to make you laugh
Like sending a nice goodbye
Inspiration from navigation
Now that you've found crime
I know you
And you know me
It's always happening
We were all so, you know
Not the kind to die with
All the things we wrote today
Sound is good tomorrow
We'll still be riding
In approaching years
Starting your time
Some desires
The weekends disappear
You can stretch out
Our legs if we have a mind
But don't disturb us
If you hear us try
To instigate the structure
Of another line or two
Cause life's not enough
Like life enough
To see it through
And we were all so, you know
Not the kind to die with
Lazy days
We were all so, you know
All the things we wrote today
Sound is good tomorrow
We'll still be riding
In approaching years
Starting your time
Some desires
The weekends disappear
You can stretch out
All the things we wrote today
To stretch our legs if we have a mind
Don't disturb us if you hear us trying
To instigate the structure of another line or two
It's right and right enough
And the right class enough
To see it through
It's right and right enough
And the right class enough
To see it through
Thank you.
It's getting a little chilly out there.
I would like to thank you for sitting through today.
It's a long time to sit on your bum,
especially if you're in the middle of the pitch
and you want to have a pee.
But never mind.
As you know, this is our first gig
as the new Elton John band.
I'd like to introduce everybody,
if you don't know who they are already.
First of all, on the drums,
our new drummer, Mr. Roger Pope on drums.
Our new guitarist, Mr. Caleb Coy on guitar.
Our new keyboard man, Mr. James Howard on keyboards.
Take a bow, James.
Our new bass player, thanks to Mr. Joe Walsh,
who I'm personally forever indebted to.
Mr. Kenny Passarelli on bass guitar.
Davy Johnson is still with us, if you've noticed.
The blonde bombshell.
The Gene Harlow of electric guitar.
And Ray Cooper is still here, too.
Ray Cooper on percussion, vibes, gongs, anything you know.
We have special guests, too.
This man's just done 40 gigs with the Doobies
and he flew, got straight on a plane
and came straight over just to play.
Jeff Baxter from Steely Dan and now the Doobie Brothers.
Come along, take a bow.
And also, singing with us,
we have two people that write songs,
wrote one of Rufus's songs earlier on,
Brenda and Brian Russell,
and they make their own records, too, on Rocket.
And also, Mr. Donny Gerard,
who also makes his own records on Rocket.
You'll be hearing a lot more on vocals.
And of course, I'm still here.
Three, two, one.
Thank you.
This is our closing numbers.
We all fall in love sometimes at curtains
and the last two numbers on the album.
And we'd like to thank you for being so appreciative
because we were * scared.
All right, thank you.
Sorry, Mum.
If you stay down next
Waking up to washing up
Making up your bed
Lazy days
A razor blade
Choose a better way
It's enough to make you laugh
Like sending a nice goodbye
